Love Child Organics Receives B Corporation Certification.
Canadian-based organic baby food company meets higher standards of social and environmental performance.
WHISTLER– March 18, 2015 – Love Child Organics, the Canadian-based start-up who is leading the revolution in 100% organic food for infants and toddlers, is proud to announce its certification as a B Corporation awarded by B Lab, joining a movement of new companies committed to use the power of business to solve social and environmental issues.
“From conception, we’ve embedded social responsibility and strong ethical values into the heart of Love Child Organics.” Says Co-Founder Leah Garrad-Cole. In order to be certified a B Corporation a company needs to meet higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. The performance standards are comprehensive and transparent. Unlike traditional corporations, Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions not only on their shareholders, but also on their stakeholders (e.g., workers, suppliers, community, consumers, and the environment).
“We believe that businesses have a responsibility to set goals beyond profit making.” Says John Garrad-Cole, Co-Founder and CFO of the company, “They must also create a positive social impact, improving the world in which we live. Becoming a B Corp was a way for us to celebrate this philosophy of running our business and to solidify our commitment moving forward. We’re very proud to be Certified B Corporation!”
B Corps are important because they inspire all businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but also to be the best for the world.
Love Child Organics joins a vast array of companies worldwide committed to create safer and healthier products for families, the communities and the environment.
